How do you determine the best time to visit each city?
Recommendations are based on three factors: weather data (temperature, rainfall, humidity), major festivals and events, and local knowledge from residents and guides I've worked with across China.
Should I only travel during the recommended season?
Not at all. The 'best' season offers the most comfortable weather and events, but shoulder seasons often mean fewer crowds and lower prices. Winter in Beijing is cold but the Great Wall with snow is unforgettable.
What if I want to travel in a month with no recommendations?
Every month has great places to visit in China. If your chosen month shows few recommendations, try a different region — for example, head south in winter or escape to the mountains in summer.
