Hi, I'm, Peng
A mother of two. A China travel specialist. A Taoism practitioner. A TCM believer. None of this was planned — it just turns out the skills that make you a good mother are exactly the ones that make you a good guide.
How I Got Here
I went to university in Chengdu — China's food capital and home of the pandas — where I studied tourism management. I walked into the industry the day I graduated and never left. Over 15 years, I've touched every corner of China travel: group tours, private itineraries, cultural deep-dives, adventure travel — you name it.
But here's what I didn't expect: what made me truly good at this wasn't my degree or my years of experience. It was becoming a mother.
When you become a mom, you learn to listen before someone even speaks. You learn to anticipate needs before they're voiced. You learn patience — the real kind, the one that doesn't wear thin when things go wrong.
That's exactly how I plan every trip for every client.
What Makes Me Different
Taoism & Ancient Wisdom
I'm a serious student of the Tao Te Ching and the I Ching. These texts have shaped how I see the world — and how I travel. Wu wei — effortless action — is not about forcing things. When I plan your trip, I don't fill every hour.
A Mother's Perspective
I have two young children who've never been to a hospital or taken a single pharmaceutical. When they get sick, I treat them with TCM — herbs, massage, food therapy. It's a philosophy: nature provides everything we need if we know how to use it.
Medical Tourism Experience
I've helped foreign clients come to Chongqing for medical treatment and watched them leave healthier than when they arrived. It taught me that trust is built on genuine care, not just a well-printed itinerary.
15 Years of Real China
I know China — not from textbooks, but from 15 years on the ground. I know which noodle shop in Xi'an has been run by the same family for three generations. I want to share all of it with you.
My Travel Philosophy
China is a 5,000-year-old civilisation hiding inside a modern country. Most visitors only see the surface — skyscrapers, bullet trains, crowds. But the real China is in the details.
I believe in slow travel. Not because it's trendy, but because it works. When you visit fewer places and stay longer, you stop being a tourist and become a guest.
Whether you want to road-trip through Yunnan, explore Fujian's ancient villages by hire car, or visit the Forbidden City — I can make it happen.
Why Work With Me?
I Listen First
Before I recommend anything, I want to understand who you are.
I Tell You the Truth
If something isn't worth your time or money, I'll say so.
I Use People I Trust
Every guide, driver, and experience provider in my network is someone I've known personally for years.
I'm With You the Whole Way
From your first email to the moment you fly home, I'm here.
A Personal Note From Me
I started WanderPeng because I believe the world deserves to see the real China.
No templates. No pressure. Just an honest conversation between two people — one of whom genuinely cares.
My Hometown: Chongqing
The city that shaped me
I was born and raised in Chongqing — a city unlike anywhere else.
Chongqing made me who I am. The people here are direct, the food is intense, and the culture is ancient.
When you visit Chongqing with me, you're not getting a guide. You're getting someone who grew up on these streets.
