Panda Volunteer Experience
Spend a day at a panda base near Chengdu. Feed them, clean their enclosures, and learn from the keepers.
There's nothing quite like looking a giant panda in the eye while handing it a apple slice. This is a full-day program at a reputable panda base near Chengdu.
What You'll Do
**Morning (8:00–12:00):**
**Lunch:** A simple but good local meal included at the base
**Afternoon (13:00–16:00):**
What's Included
Important Notes
Your interaction with the pandas is supervised at all times. The base's first priority is panda welfare. You won't be holding pandas (this hasn't been allowed for several years for ethical reasons), but you'll be close enough to see every detail.
Best Time to Go
Any time of year, but spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable weather. Panda cubs are typically born in August and visible in the nursery from September onwards.
