ต้าเหลียน (大连)

Dalian is one of China's most livable cities — a former Russian and Japanese colonial port with a stunning coastline, excellent beaches, and some of the best seafood in the north.

Xinghai Square

One of the largest city squares in the world, built right on the coast. Walk out to the giant seashell sculpture, enjoy the sea breeze, and watch the fountain show in the evening.

Russian Style Street

A preserved 19th-century Russian colonial street with colourful buildings, souvenir shops, and cafes. It's touristy but worth a walk.

Bangchuidao Island

A scenic island just off the coast with walking trails, beaches, and a golf course. Take the cable car for panoramic views of the Yellow Sea.

Seafood

Dalian's seafood is legendary in China. The cold Yellow Sea waters produce incredibly fresh sea urchin, abalone, scallops, and the local specialty — sea cucumbers.
